Welcome to Week 1! (1/1 – 1/7/2024)

Happy New Year! Welcome to our first week of the 2024 Read the Bible in 4-months Challenge!

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Then God said, โ€œLet there be lightโ€; and there was light.

-Genesis 1:1-3 NKJV

In Genesis 1, the powerful words of God brought light and life into a dark, empty world. The Word of the Lord endures forever, and our God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. No matter how lost, empty, or dark your life is right now, God and His Word can bring light and hope into your life. If previous Bible reading plans/commitments did not go well for you, remember that nothing is impossible with God, and you can start anew. Let today be a new beginning for you.

This week:

*if this day doesn’t work well for you, you are welcome to choose another day of the week, just keep it regular! The purpose is for accountability.

Comment below: your name + favorite Bible verse (also feel free to include your state/country, and other fun facts)!

Let us press on to know the Lord!

Blessings,

Grace

Hi everyone! My name is Grace and I’m so excited to be doing the Read the Bible in 4 months Challenge again with you all! In addition to reading, studying, and memorizing the Bible, other things I enjoy doing are: cooking, baking, reading, writing, learning Hebrew, and spending time with family and friends.

“As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the LORD is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him.” (Psalm 18:30)

Our God is perfect. His Word (which we are reading these 4 months) is proven – it is the truth! He is our shield and He is faithful to those who trust in Him!

Hi! My name is Emma, and I am from Texas, in the DFW area. I’m super excited to be doing this challenge with everyone! Besides learning more about God through His Word and studying and internalizing it, I love to read novels, play piano, and do any kind of art or craft. I also love birding, though it has been awhile since I last went bird watching.
May the Lord bless you all in this new year and may you continue to grow closer to Him through your reading of His Word!

Hello everyone! My name is Myra Davidsmeier, and I am excited to be doing this challenge with you all! I’m an 18yo who loves farming, hates college, but does it anyways so I can get married to my fiance, Aaron, and keep farming. Surprisingly my life does not completely consist of Aaron, farming and college. I love doing lots of other girly things with my free time. I’d love to hear all about you all and what your interests are! And big thanks to Grace for putting this on again! Thank you!

Hello! My name is Bobby Le. Iโ€™m currently a pharmacist in Conway, Ar. Iโ€™m excited to participate in this challenge with everyone. I enjoy hanging out with all different types of people, so naturally my hobbies are just whatever hobbies the people I spend time with are. Currently, itโ€™s a lot of rock climbing, gaming, studying the word, and eating.

My favorite verse (which is engraved onto my Apple Pencil) is Psalm 19:14

โ€œLet the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemerโ€

I want to be excessively full of Godโ€™s word, wisdom, and light that my heart simply cannot contain it and because of that everything that comes out of my mouth would be acceptable and honoring to Him!

SO excited to have you join us, Bobby! Psalm 19:14 is one of my favorite verses, too. Amen! May all our hearts be so full of God’s Word, wisdom, and light that it overflows in all that we think, say, and do!

Hi! My name is Rachel. I am from the sunny state of Florida. Currently, I am enjoying the *cooler* weather of winter. I am finishing my bachelor’s in early childhood education this semester. In my free time, I enjoy studying various theological topics, baking bread, making things with my sourdough, and spending time outdoors.

Hello, I’m Cole, from Ontario, Canada!
I enjoy mechanical/technical hobbies and reading, and recently graduated from Bible college. I’m currently studying aircraft maintenance, and hope to use that in missions one day.
I’ve never read through the Bible this quickly before, so I think it’ll be a fun challenge, and an interesting experience to have it all running through my head so quickly! Perhaps I’ll be able to remember more from the Old Testament while I’m reading the New, and so be able to find some more connections!
